This plastic coated flat steel boning is high quality German sprung steel and has a range of applications in corsetry and dressmaking.
Suitable for corset making, bodice boning and making skirt/petticoat hoops.
Also known as hoop steel or hoop wire, this is suitable for making hoop crinolines.
When you are able to cut boning yourself, you can customise every corset with the utmost precision instead of trying to measure up bone channels to match the nearest pre-cut length.
Cut this boning to size with tin snips and file the sharp corners off the cut edges with a metal file. The ends can then be tipped using 7mm endcaps (as used for spiral boning) or wrapped with plumbers PTFE tape for a smoother finish or even tipped with silicone sealant - the type you use in your bathroom! It's really easy!

It is worth noting that the narrower the width, the 'thicker' the bone feels. ie: 13x0.40 steel boning feels much more flexible than 7x0.4 boning which then feels nearly as thick as 6x0.6 boning. If you need to check, please request samples here.
