Clover loop pressing bars are an excellent tool for making external bone chanels for corsets or for your dress foundations, completely effortlessly!
These pressing rods are made from heat proof plastic and were originally designed for quilters to make flexible applique designs with bias cut fabric.
These amazing bars can therefore not only be used to make tubular bone casings for corsetry and dress foundations, but also for making very tidy bias strips to use as decoration on any sewing project be that corsetry, dressmaking or costumes. Who says that all the best tools are for quilting!
To use them, all you do is select the size of bone channel you want according to the corset boning you are using, cut an appropriate width and length of fabric - the loops on the end of these bars make it possible to sew metres of bone chanel at a time - insert your pressing bar, and sew a pocket using the zipper foot of your sewing machine. You then press the seam open with the bar still inside your folded fabric, and voila! A flat, straight seam, exactly where you want it - on the underside of your tube.
These pressing bars can also be used to insert elastic or cords into the tubes you have just made.
Each pack contains a set of 5 bars of various widths: 6mm/9mm/12mm/15mm/18mm. Length is 12 inches.
